Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzeen A. Plmn / M / 6 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzah.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Brain.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O abnormal behaviour since 2 years.
C/O ? partial seizures.
H/O delayed milestones.
H/O FTND (cried after 2 minutes).
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the brain was performed using the following parameters :
5 mm thick T1 Weighted, proton and T2 Weighted axial images.
3 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted coronal images.
5 mm thick FLAIR coronal images.
After administration of contrast the following parameters were used :
5 mm thick T1 Weighted axial images with magnetization transfer.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted coronal and sagittal images.
OBSERVATION :
There is a small, fairly well-defined lesion in the region of the tuber cinerium which measures approximately 1.0 x 0.8 x 1.2 cms. This lesion is isointense to grey matter on all the pulse sequences. It is seen to indent upon the inferior aspect of the third ventricle to the right of the midline. The lesion is seen to occupy the interpeduncular cistern. Scan-00008/41
On administration of contrast, there is no appreciable enhancement of this lesion.
The hippocampal complex on either side is unremarkable.
Both the lateral and the fourth ventricles are normal. The rest of the basal cisternal spaces are unremarkable. There is no shift of the midline structures. No obvious vascular anomaly is identified on this study.
Incidental note is made of enlarged adenoids.
IMPRESSION :
The MRI features are suggestive of a mass lesion measuring approximately 1.0 x 0.8 x 1.2 cms in the region of the tuber cinerium and most probably represents a hamartoma of the tuber cinerium.
