CLINICAL PROFILE :


EXAMINATION :

M.R.I. of the lumbo-sacral spine was performed using the following parameters :

5 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted sagittal images.

5 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted axial images.

OBSERVATION :

The lumbar vertebral bodies and the intervertebral discs reveal normal signal intensity. The facet joints and the visualized pre and paravertebral soft tissues are unremarkable.

The conus medullaris terminates at the L1 level and the thecal sac terminates at the S1 level.

The antero-posterior dimensions of the lumbar canal at the level of the intervertebral discs are as follows :

.0 mm at L1-L2
.0 mm at L2-L3
.0 mm at L3-L4
.0 mm at L4-L5
.0 mm at L5-S1.

Normal study of the Lumbar spine.

The cervical vertebral bodies and the intervertebral discs reveal normal signal intensity. The joints of Luschka and the visualized pre and paravertebral soft tissues are unremarkable.

The cervical spinal cord reveals normal signal intensity.

The atlanto-axial region and the cervico-medullary junction are unremarkable.

4 mm thick T1 Weighted and STIR coronal images.

4 mm thick T1 Weighted and GRASS sagittal images .

OBSERVATION :

The visualized bones show normal configuration and signal intensity. No obvious bone destruction or erosion is evident.

The visualized tendons and ligament show normal signal intensity. No joint effusion is evident. The visualized soft tissues are unremarkable.



IMPRESSION :

No significant abnormality is seen on this study.

Examination : M.R.I. of Both Hips.

CLINICAL PROFILE :

C/O pain in movement with limitation of join movement.

EXAMINATION :

M.R.I. of both hips was performed using the following parameters:

5 mm thick T1 Weighted and STIR coronal images.

5 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted (with fat saturation) axial images.

5 mm thick Proton density sagittal images (with fat saturation).

SOME IMAGES SHOW PATIENT MOTION.

OBSERVATION :

The pelvis is tiltect to the left. There is an intermediate signal intensity on the T1 Weighted images within the left hip joint which is seen to turn hyperintense on the proton, T2 Weighted and STIR images.

The epiphysis shows normal fat signal on the T1 Weighted images. There is no obvious bony erosions or destruction in the pelvis and both the hip joints. The visualized pelvis and the soft tissues are unremarkable.

IMPRESSION :

The MRI features of altered signal within the left hip joint most probably represent effusion (? sinovitis).
