Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzn V. lmn / F / 83 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzatt / Dr. Abc Xyzhah.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Brain.

CLINICAL PROFILE :

C/O seizures on 00.00.00 with ? left hemiparesis.
H/O being operated on 00.00.00 for removal of total knee replacement done 7 years back (infected).

EXAMINATION :

M.R.I of the brain was performed using the following parameters :

5 mm thick T1 Weighted, proton and T2 Weighted axial images.

5 mm thick FLAIR coronal images.

SOME IMAGES SHOW PATIENT MOTION.

OBSERVATION :

There are hyperintense areas in the right high posterior parietal region on the proton, T2 Weighted and FLAIR images. These are hypointense to the white matter on the T1 Weighted images and would represent a recent infarct (scans 109.2-109.4, 105.14-105.16, 104.14-104.16).

Ischemic changes are also seen in the periventricular deep white matter and the frontal deep white matter.

There is fullness of both the lateral ventricles. The third and the fourth ventricles are normal. There is prominence of the cerebral cortical sulci bilaterally. The basal cisternal spaces are unremarkable. There is no shift of the midline structures. No obvious vascular anomaly is identified on this study.






IMPRESSION :

The MRI features are suggestive of :

1. A recent infarct in the right high posterior parietal region.

2. Mild cerebral atrophy.
